Indiana Auto Plant Announces Leadership Change

​Indiana Auto Plant (IAP) recently announced that Bob Nelson and Kiyoshi Ikeyama have been appointed to vice president positions, effective June 2, 2011, with responsibilities to oversee IAP’s daily operations.

Nelson has been with Honda for 24 years, starting his career at Marysville Auto Plant. (MAP) in Ohio. Nelson’s career with Honda has been in purchasing where he has had many assignments, including three years in Japan. Nelson’s current position is Vice President of North American Purchasing (NAP).

Ikeyama is currently the Manufacturing Division Manager at IAP. He has been with Honda for 23 years, starting at Honda’s Suzuka plant. Prior to IAP, Ikeyama worked at HAM and then was assigned to the Greensburg plant in 2007.

Nelson and Ikeyama will assume roles held by Rich Schostek, who completed his assignment as IAP vice president in April. IAP president, Jun Nishimoto, has been covering vice president duties in the interim.

“We are looking forward to Mr. Nelson and Mr. Ikeyama assuming their vice president roles at our plant,” said IAP President Jun Nishimoto. “Our leadership team is excited for them to begin working with our outstanding Hoosier workforce and the community.”

IAP currently operates one shift with approximately 1,000 associates at the Greensburg plant, producing Honda Civic models. It is Honda’s seventh auto assembly plant in North America.
