Indiana Auto Plant (IAP) was honored Tuesday, as the recipient of the Decatur County United Fund’s* “Company of the Year” award.
This award is presented to companies and/or individuals to recognize them for outstanding efforts during the United Fund campaign.
As a second year participant, IAP teamed up with the United Fund to conduct a great campaign pledging more than $38,000 in 2010. IAP associates nearly tripled their overall campaign giving from 2009 and increased their participation drastically.
This increase is substantial to the United Fund’s agency efforts in 2011, and helped the organization greatly surpass their campaign goal of $280,000.
“As a corporate and associate-based United Fund supporter, Honda continues to do great things with the help of great individuals,” said Chris Bower, United Fund board member. “It is our honor to award Honda as our 2010 Company of the Year.”
“We are proud to participate for the second year, in the United Fund campaign, and honored to receive this award,” said Jennifer Andrick, IAP’s United Fund representative. “We understand the needs in our communities and are glad to assist those agencies who provide critical services.”
In 2011, the Decatur County United Fund serves 22 agencies that help meet the health and human services needs of the community.
*The Decatur County United Fund operates in the same function as a United Way organization, without the national membership. The Decatur County United Fund is a member of the Indiana Association of United Ways and has been a part of Decatur County for 53 years.
